Hi Schnauser,

a little german lesson: The german word "laut" has two meanings.

It can mean "loud", "noisy": Rainer ist sehr laut = Rainer is very loud.

Or it can mean "according to", "as stated by": Es funktioniert perfekt laut Rainer = It works perfectly as stated by Rainer.

So google mixed it up. "According to" would be the right translation in these cases.
