PTK: So can this Optical Engine (expected to be prototyp in this current quarter) be leveraged as PG Chip or Processor type of Chip? or it requires additional work to get it into more sophisticated Optical Engine so it can be converted into PG or Processor?

No, it can't. And I am assuming you meant PC, not PG. The optical engine is a marvelous piece of engineering, given its expected characteristics. But compared to a microprocessor it is still very simple.

And it was meant to be. POET wanted to have a product in the market quickly, so they chose the integrated VCSEL transceiver as their masterpiece. It is rather fast to manufacture ("fast" according to semiconductor standards, not to forum standards) and it still fills a large market gap and opens us a blue ocean.

The most remarkable milestone that has been reached by the end of Q1 is the undeniable confirmation that POET is ready for mass production. That was the last technical hurdle to take. And now that his has been taken means you can produce anything POET.

However, while a POET microprocessor is possible in principle, we will not see it anytime soon. On the contrary, POET wants to supplement current silicon top-notch microprocessors and unleash their true capabilities by giving them superior optical data communication in the very short range, i.e. board to board and chip to chip.

And don't forget the AR/VR story! There's so much more than just microprocessors!
