The first issue is already complex, but we can understand: you plant an idea into this fertile soil, and after a while you can harvest advanced technology and product ideas. Great for companies which have no such affiliates inside their own company like Alphabet.

The second effect can be even bigger: You plant ideas into talents. Many of the researchers of IMRE will after a while leave into the industrial world. POET will be part of their toolkit. They will spread the concept. The best of them possibly will return - to POET the company. This is so great! In the long term…

And Remember: IMRE has a good reason to start this cooperation. They know that this is the future, and I am sure they could see some proofs.
