Working with organizations such as A*STAR’s IMRE appears how one's technology can -and when completed - become widely adopted.

It appears A Star is a well established technology incubator with strong ties into many facets of the industry (AMAT as stated earlier for example-great find, appears to be others based on website). By co-developing with A*Star, and allowing them to benefit from the results of the new tech, POET provides A*Star with excellent incentive to map this deep and wide into the industry, post development. POET benefits from A*Stars’s channel, established avenue to market, and association with their name when selling.

Carving off VR and having them run with it while POET’s main resources are driving at interconnects, and the next vertical market, makes a ton of sense. POET is leveraging the industry to develop it’s platform for them in parallel.
