No, I think the short answer is. Firstly this looks as though its in very early stages. I think we all know how long it can take to progress to the FAB from there. I'd imagine POET are miles ahead of this.

Secondly, they talk about bonding III-V materials to Silicon, to create the laser. This is expensive and i'd imagine very difficult to reproduce effectively. I'm sure FJ etc have discussed the difficulty and cost of this in the past. POET's solution is so much more refined, since all of this is done on one dye, no need to bond lasers etc, it's all done in layers using the POET recipe.
