The website is a forum (sometimes called the "front page of the internet") where up or down votes are awarded based on "reddiquette" (ie, general guidelines).

To vote, or ask a public or private question you sign up by making up a username and password. (This is not any kind of scam, you can view everything you want without signing up but it is more interactive with an account)

If I had known he was doing this AMA we could have organized some questions for him (re: TRAB, etc.). A quick ctrl+f of the thread reveals nothing for "semi" or "conductors". I did send him a quick message about POET with a link to an information paper (probably could have taken tips on the best article to send but he may finish the AMA shortly).
