I had a good chuckle today.

Yesterday I was meeting with my financial planner and she asked about my TFSA stock. She put me in touch with an investment advisor for an unsolicited opinion on the company. Obviously the person didn't spend more than a few minutes looking into it but I thought it was interesting because it shows that on the investment side of things, Poet is still very under the radar.

Paraphrasing:

The company has a $200MM market capitalization with no analysis research, no objective analysis, no earnings, and only 1 institutional owner. As a business, it is still in its infancy. Currently it trades at $1.00 per share. It would be considered a speculative investment for an aggressive investor that is able to financially withstand the loss of their entire investment.

While nothing this individual said is untrue, it just goes to show that investment companies still aren't looking this way, unless they're 'in the know'.
