Good find, macnai! We had discussed the technology here before, but I wasn't aware that DARPA is behind it.

Anyway, we get a sense of how greatly opto-electronic integration on the chip level is desired. POET is clearly on the right track to provide what customers need – with the competitive differentiation of monolithically integrated lasers.
