FinFET isn't about optics. Electronic-wise POET's 40 nm should be more or less or par with or slightly better than 14 nm silicon. POET's big advantage at these node sizes is cost. And POET can still scale down. Okay, silicon can also scale down somewhat, but it will be much harder and much more costly.

I think it's for a reason that the former Senior Vice President, Technology Development, of Globalfoundries is the CEO of POET Technologies now.
