wxlt,

Thank you so much for that excellent reference: 'll-Vl Ramps Laser Capacity with Twin Acquisitions'.

I have to confess to feeling somewhat like the punkawallah in 'It ain't half hot Mum' a satire comedy on the life of an British Army entertainment troup in war time India, who frequently says. - 'I am not understanding Sir'.

My confusion is summarised by the question: Is what we see unveiling in front of us the granularity that will be exposed to us on February the 16th by our CEO?

For me the grouping of optical firms under ll-V1 has the hallmark of the Fab 2 structure envisaged by our co-chairman AM. The links PIC has established with Anadigics and Epi are now unassailable facts and one has to rationally conclude that as those deals were so recent that PTI entered into them totally aware of what was happening as regards the proposed merger. Take this a stage further and one wonders if the 'real deal' was not engineered along with ll-V1 in the first place. Alternatively, one could think is this a clever move by ll-Vl to get their oar in with POET technology before they are eaten for breakfast by a disruptive new technology and the envisaged a paradigm shift in the manufacturing of high end optical components that we have all invested in.

I suppose either way we will benefit given that the issue of Patents is rock solid. After all were we not an intellectual property company selling our wares but a short time ago? It would seem we have an early adopter and I presume that a 'shed load' of royalties will be heading towards PTI coffers in the not to distant future. As we all know it is this that will finally shift the share price high right on the graph of shareholder joy.

Most importantly one has to think of the timing of all these announcements and conclude that these are not bolts out of the blue they are planned steps on the path to commercialising POET.

But I cannot at this stage totally eliminate the question are we being driven by events or are we driving them?

SV is the only person who can answer that question and may well be already drafting his presentation aimed at us all and to be delivered at the CC in February, as now that these events are out in the open, he can at last begin to speak to us more freely and without endangering the deals that were in the pipeline. No wonder that he had to disappoint me by stating 16 February 2016 to reveal his more granular plan rather than the 'early in the New Year' that I was expecting.

Back to watching hillarious sitcoms 'my lovely Boys' as the Sergeant Major oft said.
