VPEC December revenues soar 27%

Taiwan's Visual Photonics Epitaxy Company (VPEC), a manufacturer of GaAs pi-wafers made to fabricate power amplifiers (PA) for consumer technology products such as smartphones and tablets, saw its December revenues increase 27.3% sequentially to NT$255 million (US$7.7 million).
VPEC's sales for December 2015 represented a 33% rise compared to a year earlier. Sales for all of the year came to NT$2.39 billion, rising 15.5% from 2014.
GaAs wafer foundry service provider Win Semiconductors, reportedly a major client of VPEC, has reported revenues for December 2015 increased 2% sequentially and 31.4% on year to NT$1.09 billion. Revenues totaled NT$12.02 billion in all of 2015, up 21.2% on year.
Win Semi estimated previously revenues would register a high single-digit growth sequentially in the fourth quarter. Actual results met the high end of the guidance with revenues rising 9.7% to about NT$3.2 billion.
