Well said FJ. The only thing I would dispute is the statement, "But then again by that time POET will have integrated their quantum compute capabilities into the data center and energy demand for global IT applications will have dropped to a small fraction of today’s demand." I believe that as speed and available banwidth increases, consumer demand for ever more instant actions using those fields will be proportional. New uses for the technology and greater integration in all aspects of life will add to the demand. There will likely be a lag as the step improvement in performance is realized vs what consumers are used to. However, once it is known that the saturation point has been moved, it is inevitable that products and services will attempt to maximize the capacity available in short order. Make the pipeline able to handle more, it will get used. Giving the rate of change and the "pent up" demand for increased performance, I suspect the lag will be somewhere in the range of no more than 2-3 years. At least the improvements are visible now, where as, before it was impending limitations. Just thinking out loud. Take care. Derekwpg.
