I've thought about this a lot. It is highly possible that once Ajit came aboard, all discussions, potential deals, strategy, monetization philosophy were reviewed. When the other elite execs came on board, it is also feasable, that even potential discussions a long way down the road, may have been put on hold if the team believed there was a more durable business plan, based on strenghts and opportunities.
And I'm OK with that. It would take a lot of jam to walk away from a low hanging fruit deal (no pun intended) to look longer term, bigger picture and with potential for bigger dollars.
We'll never know who they were talking to and how far along those talks were, and maybe they are still in play. Hopefully, we'll know soon.
