I guess the only real effective way to protect the IP is the stealth mode. (Even if this is so painful for us!)
The IP in the patents is just a part of the knowledge you will need to copy the technology. Without detailled parameters and the years and years of experimental background it will be - hopefully - very difficult to find the secret sauce of POET.

So finally it will be mandatory to find the trustful relation to a foundry, if it is ANAD or GF. With BAE it worked very well. And I guess in such closely defined relations the IP can be controlled very well - until the MK will come to a level that can support legal fights.
