Of course there was another milestone device expected at the time that you mention, that MS was also put on hold, and is yet another matter about which we have not been updated, although there is perhaps a clue in Note 1 re what consitutues 'electronic devices to achieve true monolithic integration'.

So Disco's Question could be extended to: 'What happened to the Ring Oscillator'. The least one could say is that there is a lot more happening behind the scenes than we are yet aware of. Clearly at that point in time there was a clear change from technology to end product as evidenced by setting up the TRAB to identify what products. POET is clearly going for VCSEL as a product the question is - is perhaps the customer developing other products?
