Thanks, yes it does say Gbps, which is great since 56GHz would put Finisar right on poet's tail.

So... is 50GHz a modulation rate as I thought or a channel bandwidth as Rainer suggests? It seems to me it is still the modulation rate (symbol rate) which will scale up depending on modulation type and bits/symbol.
