Abel00: Rainer, you'll have to include this in your schedule :)
Glad I'll be at that conference anyway to listen to Suresh's talk! Now it is at least 75 % more interesting! Thanks again to everyone who made this possible through my Kickstarter campaign! A fast-tracked conference report will be available to contributors. If you are interested, the Kickstarter campaign is still open until August 31st. This time period is fixed and can neither be closed prematurely nor can it be extended.
Regarding yesterday's news, this is another step in the direction to commercialization, another indication that POET is very serious about its "aggressive" strategy, and the first concretion of Suresh's "monetizing the technology in existing and proven high growth markets where the disruptive technology innovations will provide a relevant and sustained source of competitive differentiation." According to last week's news release, the company expects to continue this process.
Many details are still missing:
Many questions remaining, but I am confident we will receive answers in due time.
I appreciate we got this news now, i.e. around the end of August. So while we are not even close to "around the end of September" when POET Technologies "will be communicating the vision, objectives and accelerated drive to product realization", concretions are already happening as we speak. This is impressive – and at the same time raises the expectations for the September announcements.
While good news are coming in, the share price is still totally decoupled from the company's fundamentals, due to Paintree's forced sellings, Sheldon Inwentash's (according to quite believable rumors frustrational) dumpings, warrants overhang, options overhangs, and depression of the global markets. It will be interesting to watch when and how the share price will resynchronize with reality!
I'm sorry I'm posting only now! Yesterday I was very busy with important personal stuff and virtually unable to read or write. I'm still in the process of catching up with the details.
