Wafers are the basic blocks onto which the chip design is etched. They costs quite a bit of money to have produced and poet would not be getting them, unless it was to seriously start producing POET chips. This is, in my opinion, becasue a partner wishes to start using them as quickly as possible. I see this as another clear sign that commercialisation is just around the corner.

I am not very tech savy though, so perhaps im wrong.
