For What it is Worth

Well, not much to say about the recent slide other than that was pretty awful. Not too worried but also not very happy with where the SP is, given expectations, which may be too high, but even if a fraction of the potential is successful, I believe the SP should be a lot higher. I sure hope things turn around soon (tomorrow would be a good start).
There have been various discussions about whether or not a NR about "no material change" etc. is warranted. I think there are lots of arguments either way, but it has been done in the past with POET. I understand there is new management, but it is also the same company, so I do not like to hear some things that are not consistent with historical practices. A few things I have noted:
From a post from Orange Cat, a comment from Chris "management doesn't comment on stock price movement". I would argue this is not the case, for example, the interim CEO pointing to stock price chart and making a comment such as watch it go from the bottom left to the upper right. Nothing wrong with that, but let's not say it does not happen.
Some historical NR from POET (title, link, and key statement included):
OPEL Technologies Inc. Dispels Internet Rumors (March 2, 2012)
http://www.poet-technologies.com/opel-technologies-inc-dispels-internet-rumors/
"OPEL wishes to clarify that, contrary to these rumors, the Company has not, for any reason whatsoever, withheld material information which would be required to be publicly disseminated in accordance with the applicable securities laws, rules and regulations in Canada and the USA."
POET Technologies Disputes Reports of Insider Selling (August 16, 2013)
http://www.poet-technologies.com/poet-technologies-disputes-reports-of-insider-selling/
"The Company canvassed its officers and directors and all reported back that they have not sold shares of the Company."
OPEL Solar Confirms No New Material Information (March 10. 2011)
http://www.poet-technologies.com/opel-solar-confirms-no-new-material-information/
"The Company would like to officially state that since the ODIS valuation press release of March 2, 2011, there has been no new material information regarding ODIS Inc. and the POET Technology." - this one was at the request of IIROC
Point being, POET has done similar news releases in the past, so might want to at least consider it. I am not saying they should or they shouldn't, but I do not want to hear from Chris that they don't do this, because they have. I would prefer the blockbuster NR we have been expecting, something about all of the ducks being in a row. I guess the calm before the storm last longer than originally anticipated.
Good luck everyone, tomorrow is a new day!!
