"Well, if savvy old guys like Hickey and Smedley are ambivalent, it just tells you that institutional money hasn't been ready to jump in yet...but the $1.50 price already tells you that!"

One of the things about these folks is that they cover numerous stocks (sometimes over 100). It is pretty easy to provide a thin comment on a stock especially if you are saying not now or hedging your comments like these guys have.

For many people invested in POET on this blog it appears from their posts that they have a smaller number of stocks that they focus on or are invested in. For me I find it difficult to be well informed and stay current on much more than 10-15 stocks at a time. I have probably more time and money invested in POET than in any other stock I own or have owned so I have probably spent 10 times the amount of time reading this blog and the associated research than I have on the other stocks I own or have owned.

I doubt that Smedley or Hickey have anywhere near the knowledge or done the kind of research on POET like FC, Rainer or others. The diversity and depth of knowledge and expertise on POET on this blog probably is much deeper and more tensioned than the research teams inside some of the hedge funds and Advisory Companies like MM. I would take the aggregate view on this blog with more confidence than Smedley or Hickey by a longshot.
