Jets911: Is there a real likeliehood of intel or others having something that would crush POET? Are they in stealth mode until POET comes along?

You can never rule out with 100 % certainty that anything comparable is being developed in stealth mode somewhere, but I don't think so. IBM is leading the pack of the chasers, but what they are doing with III-V is going for electronics and small structure sizes, because this is the traditional way of following Moore's Law. POET on the other hand bets on optoelectronical integration at not-so-small structure size – the better way in my opinion.
