Do we look for an annouced production delay ? Say later in the summer ? Or are we to assume that they ahead of the curve by say 3 months even ?

Now Bloomberg reports that the new device, with Force Touch, has entered "early production". Full-scale manufacturing is expected to begin this month, it says, quoting "people with knowledge of the matter".

While Apple never reveals details of new products before their launch, it would be a surprise if the company did not unveil a new iPhone this autumn. For the last two years it has updated its smartphone in mid-September.

What is less certain is precisely what will be launched, and what it will be called. If Apple follows the naming pattern of the past few years, the new handset will be the iPhone 6S, but some commentators have predicted that this year's upgrade will be different enough to merit being called the iPhone 7.
