ok, but again, I do not remember Si being discussed at the EC event either.
I can't think of a good reason to even bother with Si other than to stretch the marketability of POET out a few more years. My thought was that current Si technology would be used for relatively "low-end" electronics while POET would be the cadillac chip, used in the most demanding applications, commanding higher revenue/chip.
Now, it seems, POET is after the relatively "low-end" market as well.
I only say it this way because I assume anything with Si will be slower than anything constructed exclusively of GaA's.
I'm so confused.
