Yes, I know what POET can do, and what Si can't, hence the reason I'm here.
But once again, why are we continuing with Si, a product known for its' issues of speed and heat?
If this is the way the company has chosen to go, and it certainly appears as though it is, I think a better way of announcing it to shareholders would've been to say "we're going to mount a VCSEL on silicon first and then proceed forward from there". That way, we would've known with great certainty that was the direction we were going in.
Instead the brand new COO, in his very first public statement as a member of the POET team says:
I see tremendous potential with POET Technology’s innovative approach to combining Si based IC’s with III-V materials based optical components on the same chip
Maybe I'm not that bright, but shouldn't a comment like that come from the top, instead of somewhere down the food chain (certainly no offense intended toward Dr.D)?
