I don't know if he mentioned POET or not while speaking formally, but if not, it was for a reason. And, as others have noted, certainly more than just a mention would have been received poorly. Those that had any interest surely asked him either before or after what the heck a Poet is, and I'm sure he gave those people a proper response.

I'm very pleased with Dr. V's presence at the conference; I'm confident Poet got some decent mileage out of it, one way or the other.

As far as how he was introduced, I would have certainly introduced him as the former SVP from GF and the brand new CEO of Poet Technologies - perfectly appropriate given all the circumstances.
