You are right Steve, I should have elaborated a little. But, I don't think the answer is simple Steve, there is so much information we do not have access to.

Our CEO, a former VP at GF, who upon joining Poet said

"I see immense market potential for POET Technology’s III-V complementary semiconductor fabrication process. The industry is at inflection point where new innovative solutions are needed."

GF doesn't provide much information about what they are doing, other than to state

“We are developing 22nm FD-SOI process technology right now.” The plan is to qualify the process by early 2016 and start volume production by the end of 2016. Asked about what the company’s 22nm FD-SOI process entails, Teepe explained, “We are using STMicroelectronics’ 14nm FD-SOI in our frontend, while using 28nm FD-SOI in the backend.”

I am quite confident that Dr. Venkatesan wouldn't be presenting his thoughts if there wasn't an opportunity there for Poet.
