When I bought POET 4 years ago now, I had no idea what I was doing, and I didn't really understand the implications and potential of the technology. I bought foolishly...based on a friend's advice. I bought at a very risky time. (Remember when shares were trading between .19 and .23 cents when, unbenownst to us, the company was actually in great peril?)
Obviously I'm glad I rolled the dice then...and yet, we're still not quite at the "slam dunk" stage.
But the biggest de-risking of this investment has been the ability to attract World Class, elite level, connected executives like the dream trio. From all I've read, this isn't realy even about making a tonne of money. It's about leaving a legacy. It's been mentioned over and again on this forum. You've got 3 guys who were doing very well financially, at cash cow companies in a 3-400 BILLION dollar industry. But they walked away from it...for a teeny tiny Canadian Company.
The best news for us, is the fact that money is NOT the motivator here, it's literally about changing the world. Passion needs to come first. The money will follow.
