Babaoriley, just like the hard-bitten Rick in Casablanca, I knew there there was a romantic in you.

Perhaps next year I will come to CA for the AGM and we will toast lost-loves; French Existentialism & the Foreign Legion...

I am a philosphical romantic - this story has captivated me. And yes, I am also one of the few-dozen who has actually read Thomas Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions...
