Thanks, Fairchij! We should really keep in mind that the current milestones are not unchartered territory all the way, but that POET has already accomplished that stuff, at least in principle. They did a VCSEL, they did a ring oscillator.

Of course the new devices are different from the former ones, e.g. structure size and other parameters. So there is/was still work to be done. However, I think the risk is low, even though they have been sputtered away from their original target timeline somewhat.
