keeping in mind the international audience -- if you have off-topic information to share (such as TFSA news), post it in the off topic area.
then, follow it with a post in the main area that just says "I made a post in the o/t area about xxx". if you want to get fancy, add a link the the o/t post, so all people have to do is click it.
that way, interested folks will read, and replies will stay in the o/t area without cluttering the main forum.
it's a workable compromise?
until Agora site admins upgrade the forum features to allow moving o/t threads to their proper home, it's better than having to delete good content that may be relevant, but not relevant to the whole audience.
unfortunately, cat people (and curlers) must suffer due to grandfathering: during no-news periods, dogs (and limited amounts of hockey) are considered on-topic.
