Der niederländische Halbleiterhersteller NXP will seinen amerikanischen Konkurrenten Freescale übernehmen. Die Transaktion, die einen Wert von 16,7 Milliarden Dollar hat, soll in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2015 abgeschlossen werden. Entstehen wird ein Unternehmen mit einem Marktwert von aktuell über 40 Milliarden Dollar und einem jährlichen Umsatz, der bei über 10 Milliarden Dollar liegt. Gemäss der Nachrichtenagentur "Bloomberg" wächst man damit zum achtgrössten Chip-Hersteller der Welt. Zudem wird man laut Medienmitteilung Leader im Markt für Halbleiterlösungen im Automobil-Bereich sowie für Universal-Mikrokontroller.

Samsung and AMD, Intel and Altera

March 30, 2015 - The rumor mill in the chip market simmers one hand, Samsung will be interested in buying from AMD, on the other hand, Intel is reportedly already in takeover talks with Altera.
Intel is facing a major takeover? According to the news agency "Reuters" writes, is the chip maker in talks with Altera. Object of these discussions should be according to a person familiar with the matter person buying the competitors. Intel could cost the acquisition possibly exceeding $ 10 billion - it would allow the hitherto largest acquisition in its history. The two chip makers did not want to comment on the rumor.

Almost simultaneously appeared in the network to the rumor that Samsung will be interested in the acquisition of AMD. As a source of an article by the South Korean business newspaper "Hankooki" is mentioned in the various media reports. The rumor is not new, however, already in the summer of 2012 it was said that the South Korean electronics giant will be interested in the chip maker.
