I agree with your assessment FJ. As quiet as this latest period is, I do expect the next period of enlightenment will be a cacophony of sights and sounds.
There can be no clear winner in this because ther eis no clear and complete end user maximizing value if all the attributes of the product. What a nice, neat and concise bidding war would bring us is a new valuation (more market applicable in these days of 20bln USD apps) and will make the giants realize that a piece of the engine at full throttle will have more effcient metrics than the whole engine at 1/3 throttle.
I used the term consortium, but I also like the term syndicate in this situation as well. While true that the two can have different structures and have different meanings. The idea is that they both mean that PTK can still have a reasonable control of its future (if they so wish) while keeping capital investment requirements down, and still retaining the cash flow model (or a large portion of such) and co-development of new product and usages.
Thats the most exciting part, the "Star Trek Legacy". What is to come ? What products don't we have that we don't know we need or don't know we can't live without as yet ? The next miracle medical device, electronic item, power saver, ......or even "can't get enough of" robotic buddy to hang with or future generation gaming products. Aside from an enlarged app industry that POET will assist in creating, the things, wing dings, and whatchamacalits of the future, are why PTK needs to build a business.
