Message: BUYOUT verses Long Term Stand Alone Entity

ST - haven't heard from you in a while. Good post. FJ too.

Unfortunately, I'm in the same camp. I'd love to see POET survive through some sort of partnership, licensing or syndicate arrangement but think it will be unlikely.

Does anyone have any idea whether the shareholders rights clause will withstand a takeover attempt? If it comes down to a simple vote of shareholders and enough people wanna take the money and run, we could get taken out with a relatively low bid (what that number is I have no idea).

Moska - POET being a Canadian company, I believe the sale would be subject to the scrutiny of the Competition Bureau and not the DoJ given the potential ramficiations of a single owner of this technology. However, I share your point with respect the capability of anyone, let alone anyone in the government, to understand the implications of a takeover.
