Jack, the short interest is relatively small. Any "buying to cover" the shorts might do should be totally dwarfed by the "buying to open" that should be coming as news nears. I remain anxiously optimistic, but frankly somewhat subdued, until I see the surge in buying and share price which should accompany the current status of POET.
