If Military is generally 10 years ahead of commercial consumer electronics and POET is said to be 7 years ahead of their competition. IMHO we are ahead of the game "right now" when POET is being produced for commercial consumer electronics.
It is curious how POET adopted and evolved as you can see in the Coporate Overview over the last couple years. Military applications seemed to have dropped into the shadows. I'd rather be reading about optical thrystor arrays than our technology saving some piece of junk that is dead in 3 hours. Right now if Apple wants to compete with the "Dollar Store" landfill trinkets, then let them be. Well, on second thought, since they are already neck deep in doo doo, and if it makes me rich, then I guess we can save Apple first as long as we get those lasers built! Note: Nice endorsement in funding from the US Government!
