The Global Foundries facility in Dresden is North of the city in Boxdorf. Its very near the airport which is a few miles East of the facility. About 15 miles further South EAST is the start of a geaographic area, a sandstone ridge, that extends over the Border into Poland. The feature with its beautiful hills and rivers is a popular vacation area is known locally as the German Switzerland.

This has been mentioned before here (sunny I think) but I'm not sure if others picked up on the possibility that this may be the Switzerland that PC, AM and SG had flown in from Which was an eye brow raiser from the London CIC event in February.

Its barefaced conjecture on my behalf but staying in a nice Wald Hotel is all part of the German experience that executives might indulge in as part of a trip to visit and establish apartnership. The GF Dresden plant I believe has GaAs facilities.

Perhaps Rainer maybe able to correct my wild dot joining here. But it is an interesting possibility and reason why PC and AM were so gung ho at the CIC. Their confidence was a highlight for me and this would explain it.
