Realistic or Unrealistic Expectations ?

I am not sure there is a definitive way to get this across. Those of you who have or are running a business would understand it. Those that have a large business under them would certainly understand it.
I read much anxiety, angst and impatience among the crowd herein. I read much self doubt about the individuals investment decisions, about managements comments and statements and about the product in certain specifics. I read that if wishes were horses then beggars would fly.
Really, I feel for all camps here. In some cases however, these delays are expected, warranted, wanted (in my case no rush means gold rush) and even created.
However, having stated the above, I do have a large proviso. I can keep my goals in focus, emotions in check, and grind the time out. I am a bit of a cheat though, as I do run a day to day operation that generates many, many millions of dollars, along with quite a few daily issues. Yes !, I do also have assistance in doing so, solving so. I do have literally hourly production reports and up-dates from all managers/departments at least twice a day. I do use "MBWA" as a management tool as well (Tom Peters-management by walking around) and help to solve problems and see what my staff may need. I have my hands in everything we do, to make the lives of the people who work here much less stressful.
Eileen, your at it again.....whats your point ? (insert what ifs, shoulda, coulda, woulda's and he said/she said here)
-We all have hard earned capital at stake here.
-We all hang on every word thats said, printed, intimated.
-We all have an emotional connection and/or stake here as well.
-We all (some/most) believe in the ultimate value and effect here.
-Some even believe a mania will ensue.
My point is nothings changed. In behind the scenes, as it is here in my company, things are being completed at as a fast a speed as they feel comfortable. Rememberv this invokes , lawyers, accountants, staff, marketers, VP's of Product Development, Reliabilty Engineers, Engineers of many ther disciplines, support staff etc.
My point is multiply this by any number of companies asking questions, being involved in any way, or even in serious discussions with PTK. The paper would be over whelming. The day, week and month, would have not enough hours in it.
My point is if as it appears they have the holy grail in hand, why would time matter ? More important to dot "i's" and cross "t's" carefully and read and review every contractual line again and again then have lawyers do the same.
My point is if your planning a coming out party, would you not want the invitees list made, reviewed and completed, then the invites mailed, the cakes, and catering ordered and ready, the hall booked, the parking spots confirmed, the hotel rooms booked. The advertising planned and placed.
My point us that Ajit, Peter, Stephane, and company, have all done this before. They now apply those before lessons to the holy grail. With great great responsibility in the backs of their minds that will affect an entire industry, billions in capital, thousands of jobs, even elections in some cases. Thats a broad based responsibility thats on the shoulders of these men. I for one would not want it.
So do they rush to please us ? Do they rush to make their own self imposed stated idealogical deadlines ? Do they rush to make the market happy ?
Or do they work within the framework or positives and negatives that happens daily, deal with delays because of a myriad of causes including a tsunami of interest, with a skeleton office staff ?
To Eileen, when your god, you have no time frame.
