I really don't see GT ever stepping back from this technology unless he if forced to in some way, health etc.

This is his life's work and I really don't think he could not be doing something with it. How does one just stop doing something he has done a good part of his life? Like you say FJ, maybe if it gets commercialized and a real good protege is found to carry it on just maybe he would step back, albeit just a foot or two.
