Poet is still a highly traded Venture exchange stock with an ample share count so I am not sure why they would require market makers. There is definitley a big difference in market making in Canada versus the US. In Canada they are having much less of an impact as the years go on and are typically required when liquidity is an issue. That does not appear to be the case with PTK. They buy and sell (or short) within their own accounts but it is still not collusion that occurs because it is within their parent bank or their own brokerage houses. With Poet it certainly has a lot of volatility and that is what market makers are suppose to reduce. I am not saying that there is completely no manipulation going on but that would not be market makers exhibiting that control. Most likely a hedge fund taking advantage of retail ownership. Ciao.
