Message: Questions about ring oscillators

Fairchij: They will have a very good idea of what to expect based on UCONN lab results and computer modeling. This I expect is the reason they are so confident in their statements of deals being generated from these results.

Yes, absolutely, Fairchij! They are so very bold and confident, because they know what they are having and what they'll get with their ring oscillator and VCSEL. Let's remember that these milestones have been introduced due to the requirements of potential customers, they are no POET requirements. This is because the POET team knows what it has and doesn't need more confirmation. But the potential customers don't, so they need something they can a) understand and b) measure.

Fairchij: I recall from the first lab tour that we were told that the frequency rate when shrinking the nodes in POET resulted in greater gains than that achieved in silicon.

Interesting, thanks! I didn't know that yet.
