Although Silicon will work, it is so inefficient, compaired to GaAs, I can see the EPA mandating the use of GaAs over Silicon in manufactured items in the US. Solar powered devices would probably opt for it just for practicallity, but as with light bulbs, automobiles, etc, everywhere you turn, if there is a , lower energy consuming alternative, it will be required by the government. Everyone wants to save energy. POET does exactly that. Silicon would be phased out. So there's your market. It just grew expotentially. Governments require POET technology, from server farms to phones.
