Very interesting - they may have to revise this video at some point - because the SILICON photonics chip referenced will have been displaced by something much faster.
My question is: if Intel and Corning collaborated on the development of this fiber optic cable, could there possibly be any chance that the cable itself might not be processor agnostic? in other words, could it only work best between Intel CPUs?
I know, that might be a ridiculous question, but I was taught that no question is ridiculous...
