Maybe simpistic but here goes: Apple has the iWatch - a very important NEW product for them as they need something fresh. If they launch something that dissapoints we have a huge embarrassment to the company, something Apple, of all companies frowns opon, unhappy customers, and fodder for competitors and anti-Apple folks. (maybe the PC contingent). It seems to me, POET has the only viable solution to their problem with our technology. Apple dumps money for accelerate developement of our fast, cool, powerful chip they need, using our PET format in our existing 3rd party foundries. Maybe postpone iWatch launch slightly, but end up with acceptable product, but with plenty of room for new improved future models using our optic capabilities as we develope them further, all within our master plan, for Apple. With agreements in place we could use out tech in their phones in the future too.

Plan is simplified, but we do use tried and true configurations with our PET process, in existing 3rd party foundries, and if you ask BAE, it works. With Apple's available capital we get ladders to reach fruit that might be out of our reach otherwise. Also we very well may be further along with our POET/PET development than we know at this point.

I think that Apple launching and inferior product is unacceptable, and from what I've seen (that is what they let me see) they have battery longevity and heat problems with the Silicon processors planned. Unlike the gustation period for people, labs can work on parts or segments simutaniously, and assemble their part for a combined finished product. We are a fabless company. Between Synopsys, our undisclosed 3rd party foundry, and our guys, and the premsise of using Silicon techniques with GsAs (generally), is it a possibliity? It certainly would be a great possiblility. Always thinking here.
