Yes, POET currently is a Canadian company, and hopefully will remain so.

No, I don't believe so.

Canadians and Americans are in bed together for defence, for better or for worse.

Assuming the above to be true, GF will not be enabled to purchase POET at any price since they are owned by Abu Dhabi through its' subsidiary Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC). Enabling a foreign country to own POET, with all of its' potential, would be a defensive disaster.

Personally, I would like it if Canada went it's own way, and left the Americans to their own devices, but that won't happen until I'm the ruler of Canada (read, not anytime soon).
