Message: Theres your office over there.....

I thought I would take a few minutes, to discuss what a PTK org chart will or may look like in a very short time. In light of a new CEO coming aboard with a potential board member or two, and new staff.

The role of CEO is akin to chief cook and bottle washer. You have to be multi faceted, multi skilled, in some cases multi lingual and be a good human being (my opinion), treat others as you wish to be treated. An eye for the bottom line, budgets, financial projections etc as well. A "specialty" (marketing in my case) never hurts either. The CEO definately likes to make his/her team from a selected field of all stars usually from which they have become acquianted with through work relationships. In our office we have an extensive design/engineering department. Engineers can be so helpful, if they have the "knack". If they don't, its like a death by a thousand needle to get a straight answer.

Now I can say that my team was 50% hand picked and 50% inherited, and I must say we synergized very well at the outset and continue to backstop one another to this day. I have had zero turnover since my first day. In my org chart, being a small division company, I have a smaller number of executives underneath me. I would expect (my guess) PTK to eventually have several SVP's and VP's (research, sales and marketing, product development, finance etc), along with complimentary support staffing. An example possibly being, an SVP of either product development or new product development etc. Underneath would be the support/documentation/proxy people. I am not sure if they will have a COO and/or a CTO, a legal department to assist in contract administration, licencing supervision etc may also be a consideration. We have a large legal representation in our offices due to some of the work type we complete here.

No doubt the company will be adding office space to meet the new requirements of a growing technology company. Another interesting thing to me, will be how the work flow goes. Does AM get the deals in place for the legal department to finalize ? Will an SVP/VP be responsible for new business development ? Or will this remain with AM ?

I have mentioned in past what a dream the POET product would be to market.I am also curious how much involvement PTK will have in the control of the products message and the mediums used. Its my hunch they want to carefuly control the message to the masses. No doubt the product and its attributes will sell itself. The companies responsibility will most likely lie in their message and how they want it presented.

"Powered by Poet" is fantastic in its simplicity and yet conjures up images and curiosity enough to attract large human interest. What is POET ? What does it power ? Where does it come from ? How much does it cost ? The first an most important customer hot button will be ?

"What does or will it do for me ?"

Suffice to say, once the general public is aware of what it can do for them. Thats not just the ability to save your power consumption enough to charge your smart phone once a week, or by solar.....but also to make your smart phone...."smarter".........soon after....a new word will enter the PTK lexicon ........"Tsunami".
