Notice that the first link is an international patent application and the second one filed earlier is a US-only filing.
A quick look at the diagrams included in these filings show that this patent is very important. It looks comprehensive, including many of the important devices needed for an ordinary GaAs replacement for a SiCMOS integrated circuit. But this patent also describes how POET can be configured to form single electron transistors!
Notice also that the US version of this patent is said to be a continuation of the “OPTICAL CLOSED LOOP MICRORESONATOR AND THYRISTOR MEMORY DEVICE” patent which has also been registered with USPTO, WIPO, European Patent Office and Japan Patent Office.
It's great to see POET fortifying the IP with recent patents as we move towards licensing.
