HarryE, it seems your considerations are less about niches and more about timescales. This is something different and I tend to agree with you somewhat. Like you I believe that it takes years rather than months until we'll see physical gadgets "Powered by POET", because developments will take their time. However, some simple chips may be exceptions to the rule, see "low-hanging fruits".

Anyway, revenue will start to flow in rather soon now, because customers will have to pay license fees when they start to develop POET chips, not only when they bring them to market. Additional fees (royalties) will be due by that time for each chip sold.

I am glad, HarryE, you didn't point to certain niches claiming POET would not be feasible there for this or that reason. In some areas things might take longer than in others, but I think we can live with that.
