In last 6 months Globalfoundries (GloFlo) hired some top execs from IBM, Qualcomm and AMD. Around same time Ajit Manocha has joined POET Tech. and 6 months before that he left Globalfoundries. I'm just saying :)
Some rumor befor Ajit Manocha left GloFlo: [12/13/13] Rumor is almost all of the GlobalFoundries marketing people have been laid off -- even some old guard Chartered Semi guys have been cut. Speculation is Ajit Manocha, CEO of GloFlo, is unhappy with how empty his fabs are since the AMD deal dried up, so he's going "back to the fundamentals" where GF is now only focused on the Big 4 companies of chip design -- Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor, and ARM. This means GF will be ignoring all the remaining lessor EDA and IP companies. Heck, it's even rumored GF is skipping the next DAC!

From GloFlo to POET: 7 July 2014 - Ajit Manocha has joined the board as executive vice chairman. He will help in determining the strategic direction of the firm, and work with the executive chairman & interim CEO in carrying out actions to support that strategic direction, specifically including: mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and related transitions; joint ventures, collaborations, partnerships and other industry relationships; assistance in capital raises; and identification and installation of a permanent CEO.
Manocha was most recently CEO of the world’s second-largest semiconductor foundry GlobalFoundries - formerly the manufacturing arm of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and expanded via the acquisition of Chartered Semiconductor – which produces integrated circuits in high volume for semiconductor companies such as AMD, Apple, Broadcom, Qualcomm, Samsung and STMicroelectronics. Globally, it owns five 200mm fabrication plants and three 300mm fabrication plants (including a new 300mm plant in New York). Manocha continues in a role as advisor with GlobalFoundries.

From AMD to GloFlo: Friday, 28 November 2014 - We heard that one high profile AMD veteran transferred to GlobalFoundries and we got a crash course on why this is a good thing. John Docherty is now Senior Vice President, Global Operations, at GlobalFoundries and since he had a similar role at AMD, he should do well in this new position. John is an ex-ATI chap, he worked as a Senior Vice President Operations at ATI and in AMD he was doing the same thing - he was Senior Vice President, Manufacturing Operations. To put things in perspective, Mr. Docherty has hands on experience in both GPU manufacturing and CPU manufacturing, which is not the case with most executives.
