during the annual poll the specific individual information gets typed into a virtual machine instance that has no access to the Internet, and because I don't want any possible future liability from keeping the private information around, the VM gets destroyed once the total/summary information gets posted in public at the end.

now, since I can't erase my brain it arguably is possible that I might happen to remember some things, but even if I did, I wouldn't necessarily be inclined to admit such a thing in a public post, nor would I hazard to vouch for whether the particular memory were 100% accurate.
