Okay, here's another heretical point of view:

I've held various amounts of POET stock over the last 12-16 months, and have read this board religiously for about the last 10-12 months. I've learned some stuff, mainly who I would consider really sharp whether it be in the tech or business end of things. The tech, while fascinating, is so far beyond me, even if I studied hard, I still would not have a chance in a million to be able to figure out why this is a sure thing or a very, very risky thing, so since I have a day job, go to a lot of hockey games and play some golf, I'll stick to trying my best to handicap the personalities on this board.

But, one thing that hasn't changed for about a year, or since I started really following the board, is that POET is an "if" not a "when" proposition. Naturally, there's some "when" involved, but very little relatively speaking, as I expect we will know in a reasonable time whether we've hit big, medium, small, or missed altogether.

"If" we achieve the technological success anticipated by many posters, the "when" fades into the sunset. December is just another month, like the other 11. Whether POET treats us to some great news before it ends can be reduced to a probability, but that probabality is nowhere near 100%, irrespective of what POET has said in the past.

I will not be broken-hearted or disillusioned or angry at management if they don't bring me the news we all want by December 31 - this is not "Around the World in 80 Days" after all, or midnight at which time we turn into pumpkins - no deadlines have been set, only some guidance. Is the guidance overly optimistic - I'm sure it is sometimes, and this could be one of those times.

Just let's get the "if" answered (hopefully positively) within a few months or a year - that should make everyone forget the "when."
